Mixed Media Flower Art Painting “THREE REDS AND A YELLOW” by Colorado Mixed Media Artist Carol Nelson

This painting is done in the faux batik style. After painting the flowers, a layer of wax was applied as a resist. After gently crumbling the waxed painting, a darker color was pushed into the cracks. After ironing to melt the wax, a beautiful lacy pattern appears.

The Branson Arts Council, in collaboration with the Branson Convention Center will be hosting the opening reception of the current fine art exhibition featuring acclaimed artists. These artists will display their award winning artwork, ranging from oils to acrylics to photography, at the Branson Convention Center located at 200 South Sycamore, Branson, MO.

VIP opening reception on Friday, April 14th from 7-9 pm.

I have been involved in "The Mask Project" for several years.  It is a fund raising benefit for The Denver hospice.  Several hundred people have painted masks for bid and all proceeds go to The Denver Hospice.
