Abstract Painting, Contemporary Art "Synergy" by Santa Fe Contemporary Artist Sandra Duran Wilson

Synergy is when two things come together to create something bigger than the sum of the two. My definition is a little different and I come to it from a cognitive perspective. This painting began as a background that I call the accidental masterpiece. I apply extra paint, clean off my stencils and it just evolves over time. My unconscious is playing with the concepts and as I begin to focus on the piece to develop the composition and finish the painting, the parts come together easily and fluidly. The synergy of both the left and right hemispheres at play.
