"Country Road," Oil Painting Countryside by Amy Whitehouse

Oil, 8" x 10" $95

Fresh off the easel, this image of a country road

reminds me of our family's homestead in rural Virginia.

It also makes me think of songs by James Taylor and

John Denver. What comes to your mind?

This painting came together after toning the canvas with
Quinacridone Magenta.
You can see where I left some of that original toning paint untouched.
This is a universal sunset; it could be anywhere.

Southwest Vista

16" x 20" Oil, $600

I often comment on what a joy making art is for me.

Now, not always! Yesterday I painted for several hours,

and am not happy with anything from that whole session.

But this one...I love it and I loved creating it.

It evolved from a painting that looked nothing like this

finished product.

There are many layers of traditional oil paint

as well as many layers of pure pigment oil paint.

It must go to a good home.
