Bringing in ELEMENTS of the earth into Fine Art

My “Elements” series is a creative blending of semi-precious stones and unique pieces of the earth with traditional fine art. I love finding and using things that were created by nature such as semi-precious stones and sea shells, using them in unique and creative ways.
“I’ve never seen anything like it”  Is the biggest comment I get.
The semi-precious stones I use in my Elements series come from all over the world from various sources. Most of the stones I use have been collected throughout the year in order to work out my compositions and then incorporate them into my paintings.
Each semi-precious stone has individual properties generating energetically from the stone. The energy can be felt by wearing the stone, touching the stone and will fill your room where the art will hang.
I encourage people to touch the stones on the art to resonate with its properties. I include properties of the stones with the descriptions. Some stones are healing, energizing, loving, and calming. Some resonate with different chakras and evoke emotions.
I love working with and showcasing the unique beauty found in each semi-precious stone. I hope you enjoy these unique works as much as I enjoy creating them.

“Illuminated” Series: These unique paintings are lit up with LED’s and are on remote that dims changing the brightness of the light coming through the stones. They run on a battery where there is no cord to be bothered with and to be placed in any area of your home. The battery is rechargeable where it can be accessed on the side of the painting and simply plugged into an electric outlet to charge the battery.

Stones Used:

Quartz Crystal: Wonderful multi use stone. Enhances energy of all other stones and metals. Harmonious and powerful. Aids communication. Sign of Entire Zodiac.

Agate: Protection, Strength, Harmony. Agate’s most noticeable properties overall are balancing yin/yang energy, courage, protection, healing, and calming.
Agate is a stone of strength. It was used by the Ancients on the breastplates of armor to give warriors strength and make them victorious in battle. Energetically, it is considered to give strength in both battles and physically.
Agate enhances creativity and strengthens the intellect, making it a beneficial stone for both students and artists. It is also known as a good luck stone. As a stone of harmony, one of the things agate does is balance yin/yang energy. Agate increases energy. However, because it is a grounding stone, it does not increase energy at all times but rather enables bursts of energy as needed. In this way, agate is a conservation stone  and enhances longevity.

Tiger’s Eye: A stone of protection, it may also bring good luck to the wearer.  It has the power to focus the mind, promoting mental clarity, assisting us to resolve problems objectively and unclouded by emotions.  Particularly useful for healing psychosomatic illnesses, dispelling fear and anxiety.  Useful for recognizing one’s own needs in relation to the needs of others.  Balancing yin-yang and energizing the emotional body, Tiger Eye stabilizes mood swings, imbues us with willpower, purpose, courage, and self-confidence, and releases tension.

Aragonite: helps ground, center and stabilize your physical energies. It is quite useful in time of stress.  It helps in preparing for meditation while providing stabilization with your spiritual development.  It provides insight into the causes of problems and situations.  Aragonite aids concentration and brings tolerance and flexibility to the mind.  It helps in teaching you acceptance and patience, especially helpful to those who feel they have too much responsibility.  Aragonite provides strength, support, and helps combat anger and emotional stress.
Aragonite brings warmth to the extremities, helping with aches and pains.  It combats deficiencies in Vitamins A and D.  Aragonite combats dis-ease and can stop night twitches and muscle spasms.

Petrified Bark Castings: These specimens were found by my supplier rock hound of mine in Utah. They are rock, sand material that built up around bark that became petrified overtime, it then was peeled off and what is used here is what remained from the tree. These are extremely rare I was told and some of the only ones he found.

Petrified Wood: From Amanda Adkins from the TV show Prospectors on The Weather Channel. She collected them in Utah.

Red Jasper: From Arizona: Is good for compassion, nurturing, tranquility, healing, relaxation, contentment, completion. Great for the base or root chakra. Jasper is known as the “supreme nurturer”. Repels negative energy.

Moqui Marbles marble-like concretion having a sandstone center encased in an iron oxide shell. These geological oddities litter the surface of the iron-rich Navajo sandstone in southern Utah’s Zion and Capitol national parks, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Snow Canyon State Park and the Moab area. They are also referred to as Moqui Balls, Hopi Marbles and Shaman Stones.  In the Hopi language, the word “moqui” means “dearly departed one.” Legend says that the departed ancestors of the Hopi Indians of the Southwestern United States played games with these “marbles” in the evening when spirits are allowed to visit the earth. When the sun rises they must return to the heavens so they leave the marbles behind to let relatives know they are happy and well. Some geologists believe them to be ironstone concretions formed about 25 million years ago when significant volumes of groundwater flowed through permeable rock and chemical reactions triggered minerals to precipitate and start forming a layered, spherical ball.
